replacement PC

Post by berzerker »

So I got my BOP 2.0 kit from Cointaker (I think I'm part of second batch from cointaker, I assume that's batch 3?) just before Christmas, and installed it, played it for a night, and then when I turned it on the next night, the PC wouldn't boot. Checked voltage from PSU (12.28 vac), and tried booting on another display, getting to BIOS or windows start menu - basically get 0 response from the PC other than the power indicator. In the end, Cointaker is sending me a replacement PC, as it looks like this one is bricked.

While Cointaker has me covered this round, it has me wondering both for in the meantime and if/when the PC croaks past warranty.... what are the specs to build a replacement PC for this kit? If we don't have a backup (as detailed in another thread) are we SOL on the new PC, or is there a way to install the specialized version of windows and the game code onto a new computer? if we do end up with a backup, are there any special requirements for the replacement PC? (i.e. minimum CPU speed or RAM? how much disk space?) if we try to recover the OS and code from a backup onto a new PC, will the windows license have an issue with being installed on a new CPU?

thanks for any insight :)
