I recently went through the process of cloning the SSD inside my BoP 2.0 machine and put together an article covering the process for anyone that's interested.
The full article with lots of screen dumps can be viewed here - http://www.enteryourinitials.com/2018/1 ... ice-log-6/
Hopefully people find it useful. I think it's important to have a backup of the 2.0 disk and well worth doing.
I do have a couple of questions for Koen (if you're willing/able to answer them) for some information that I'd like to add to the end of the article.
1) To just back up the current high scores and settings from 2.0 - is this information stored in the database tables under the brideofpinbot folder? Now that I have a full cloned backup, I only need to backup scores and settings every now and then. So i'm wondering if copying these database files is enough to restore the scores and settings? Is the live folder also needed? (or other files / folders). Reason I'm asking is if I ever had to use the spare backup of the game, it would revert all my Live data and local scores to the time of the backup. I'd like to be able to copy over the updated score files if needed, so want to confirm which files/folders are required for this.
2) Do you need to enter the serial key (printed on the SSD) anywhere else other than the serial text file? (only time I can see this being required is if restoring from someone else's backup). My assumption is this key is used for accessing the Live system when updating scores and profiles online. I mention this at the end of the article, but it's an assumption I'm making, so wanted to check.
3) What folder / files needs to copied to just backup the BoP scores from pinmame?

Re: BoP 2.0 SSD Mirror tutorial
Hi Jesder,
Nice job on the guide!
1) You are correct, all settings, audits, highscores, profiles etc. are in the database/database.db file in the 1.1x version folder that is your active version. The live folder only contains temporary DMD feed data.
2) Your assumptions are right
3) I think that would be the nvram file called bopl7.nv or something like that, depending on the ROM you're using.
Cheers, Koen

Re: BoP 2.0 SSD Mirror tutorial
Thanks for the reply Koen
I've added a small section to the end of the article about those folders.
Something else on my "ToDo" list is put together a knowledge base (of sorts) for 2.0 as a way to ensure knowledge is retained about the hardware, setup, backup, features, support, trouble shooting, etc, etc. I love my 2.0 - easily the favorite game in my line up. We're lucky to have you still popping in with support (and DP are hanging on). If either/both of you disappear, my hope is to ensure the knowledge is still accessible for current and future owners.
