Mode Ideas / Suggestions

Hey all since the code is still being developed thought we could post some thoughts on what might be cool to add here?

I am not sure how the game works as is so I am coming from a slightly blind spot - is there any place with the rules explained well already?

Was thinking for the White Russian modes - does this start 2x scoring or something? Could they do something where if you complete it you are 'buzzed' so the flippers reverse temporarily like drunk MB in CCC? Or that is kinda gimmicky so maybe something else?

What else do you all have ideas about so far?

I think the reversed flippers are getting a little overused lately.. but I do think there could be something to do here for collecting all white russians (they are on a timer now though, so that would have to switch in order to make feasible right?). Alternatively, stacking white russians on the same shot I personally would like (prob not both concepts).

I love the idea of a drug mode where when the dude is seeing jackie the flippers strength go weaker.

Maybe a clip from the trampoline when you hit the trampline?

Maybe some combo points for ramps, orbits, etc

Be able to cancel out the match sequence/animation when pushing the start button, allowing a fast start to the next game.

I thought of a simple thing since I'll be putting mine on location soon and that's having daily and/or weekly or other increment for high scores. People love to put up initials so at least daily and monthly maybe?

Also since online you can see high scores down to the top 20 I guess maybe if that could be shown on the DMD would be sweet too!

I love spinners so was thinking:

After you have Maude lit - is there a way to keep that gate open that currently stops a shot into Maude from going all the way around? That would be a neat way to make the game faster/harder but of course it would be almost impossible to hit Maude pops/lanes. Related idea is to have a mode within Maude or something where the spinner is lit for a higher value and then that gate stays open so the ball is coming around quickly instead of dropping into the pops? Just thinking of how to make that spinner shot more valuable and fun since I love that shot :)

White Russian - so i now know if you complete the ingredients it says something like "white russian dude" and then lights all the WRs on the playfield. The next shot you hit will be 2x and the WR will be solid. Awesome! Means 1M pt jackpots in Character MB if you have all the characters.

I've noticed sometimes the WR will be blinking - anyone know what that indicates?

Some things I'd like to see with future updates:

1) Allow the lock lights to be stacked for at least the first multiball (like White Water)
2) Give us a video mode to enjoy that beautiful screen. I still think it'd be hilarious to have a Knox Harrington, The Video Artist Video Mode
3) More sound bites
4) More callouts that help guide the player
5) A Royal Madness type mode after you've qualified the characters
6) More variation in the bowling objectives
7) Fewer hits to complete the car modes
8) An option to keep the player signed in when playing consecutive single-player games
9) more match screens besides Marty's cycle
10) incorporate the bowling alley into multiball
11) Allow the upper playfield to serve as a playfield multiplier during multiball like WOZ
12) Mark it Zero remains lit after qualifying... if you qualify on the left inlane, good luck getting it in the saucer in time...
13) Online tournament mode

One of my flurries of suggestions during development was something like this. Dude gets drugged, try to make shots as the flippers become progressively weaker until they stop working altogether. Complete enough shots, and you get to a Gutterballs mode (maybe a multiball). Don't complete enough shots, you get the sheriff of Malibu screaming at you and your ball gets kicked back into play.

I still think it'd be hilarious for games on location that when you put in a couple dollars to queue up a bunch of credits, Bunny will say "I'll suck your cock for a thousand dollars"

Also, I think it'd be cool to have a trivia mode, like NBA Fastbreak... there's so much good trivia.

And seriously, I need some Knox Harrington

Other things that got us thinking last night at a tournament we had which TBL was in (not sure how much of this might be addressed in code updates too):

- would be cool if you could stack the modes with MB - right now you can't it seems.
- Modes should be more valuable? Right now seems like MBs are the best scoring strategy...

- Anyone know for sure if you get a single character for Character MB it's 100K jackpots per character, but if you get all five it's just 500K right? Shouldn't there be some extra bonus for getting them all in one ball like it's worth 750K or so instead? With the White Russian doubler that's then 1.5M/jackpot :)

The location machine I have here in San Francisco is doing well now - no PROC errors for a while or resets (hope I am not jinxing it!) over 1800 plays...

Also there is no replay setting - could this be added in? Along with replay boost options? And game audits in the menu would be nice aside from just the drain audits and coil ones - thanks! :)

Anyone know how to get an Extra Ball aside from the Mystery award?

Was thinking one good way might be if after you clear two rounds of Nihilists in Nihilist Showdown that could like an Extra Ball?

Any other ideas?

Another suggestion. when you hit both flippers when the game is in attract mode after a game, can the display show the scores for a bit longer? This is helpful for when you need to record scores during a tournament and such (which of course right now aren't happening as much) - unless you are integrating Scorbit support for the game as well...
