Reset due to +12V drop

Post by Jump »

I'm running my BoP 2.0 since 2014 (Batch 1) with no problems.

Since this week the Zotac PC shuts down and restarts permanently. The reason seems to be an unstable +12V on the PDB, it drops to less than +8V.
If I disconnect the display and run the pinball with an external PC monitor, everything works fine. The regulated +12V stays between 11.7V and 12.4V during the whole gameplay.

As soon as I plug in the power cable from the P-ROC board to the BoP display, the voltage drops.

Now my question: Should I replace the board m.rt2261.5b on the display or might the problem comes from the PDB?

Thanks for any feedback.

Cheers

Hi André,

Your research is correct. It's better to provide separate power to the display, which was implemented in later batches.

Something like the following should do the job:
https://www.amazon.de/Netzadapter-Trans ... B01N7THM03

Thanks, Koen
